Adjustable Height Towing Brackets
Towing with a 4x4 vehicle is becoming increasingly popular with
caravanners who appreciate the extra towing power and carrying capacity
such vehicles provide. Because of the high ground clearance required
by 4x4 vehicles for off-road use the standard towing bracket fitted
to the vehicle is often too high for the average caravan resulting in
a "nose-up" attitude. The Dixon-Bate range of Adjustable Height towing
brackets enables the towing coupling to be easily and quickly adjusted
without tools to the right height to suit the hitch height of the caravan. Shock
Absorbing Towbars
Whether towing by car, van or 4x4 vehicle any device which provides
a smoother ride when towing will reduce driver and passenger fatigue
and possibly prevent damage to the trailer.
Dixon-Bate manufacture two such products:- Shocklink Mark II
The Shocklink is recommended as an essential accessory when towing
with 4x4 vehicles and moves in a vertical plane and uses coil springs
with rubber inserts to absorb the socks transmitted down the vehicle
towbar, resulting in a smoother ride, relieving driver and passenger
fatigue, and reducing potential damage to the caravan or trailer. Shocklink
Mark II is designed to fit onto either the Dixon-Bate Adjustable Coupling
or, by using the Adapter Plate, to towbars which have a 4 bolt fixing.
It is pre-drilled with coupling holes to BS Au 114a which will not only
accept 50mm towballs, universal couplings or towing jaws, but also most
of the stabilisers currently available on the market. Shocklink Mark
II is designed for vehicles up to 2800kgs Gross Vehicle Weight towing
a maximum of 3500kgs Gross Trailer Weight.

 Lock-Pin
In addition to the high security lock, the kit includes a replacement
pin suitable for your Dixon-Bate coupling. Each pin is specially machined
to receive the lock, it is supplied with either a new R clip (adjustable
coupling version) or chain/tag and R clip (Universal coupling or towing
jaw version).
